Patna, Oct 20: Accusing pseudo-secular parties of creating caste and religious divide in the country, BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu today asserted that minorities, particularly Muslims, were "perfectly safe" under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
Addressing party workers at a function to mark the end of Jayaprakash Narayan's centenary celebrations here, Naidu said India faced the biggest threat to its secular polity from pseudo-secular parties fomenting caste and communal tension for petty political gains and not from the BJP that believes in unity in diversity and keeping the social fabric of the country intact.

"India is the only country where minority Muslims can become the president and hold key posts like that of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and head top military positions. Several Muslims have even become captains of the cricket and hockey teams," he said.
