Jammu, May 11: There is no room for complacency while maintaining law and order in Jammu and Kashmir, Director General of Police Ashok Suri said at a meeting of senior police officials to review the security situation in the state. The police force should ensure public order effectively and contain growth of militancy at all costs and there is no room for complacency, Suri told zonal police officers here last night.

He said there is a need to improve efficiency and quality of service rendered by the police department in the state. Suri said proper documentation and disposal of cases must be ensured, besides relentless pursuance of cases in courts.

The DGP was briefed by the district SSP about progress made in effective disposal of cases, welfare measures initiated in respect of families of deceased police personnel, apart from civic action programme and police-public relationship exercises. Bureau Report
