Tokyo, Oct 21: North Korea may have test-fired a short-range missile off its eastern coast, the second launch of a land-to-ship missile in two days, the Japanese government said today. A Foreign Ministry official said unconfirmed information was received about the firing, which the government believed occurred early this morning. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the government hadn`t verified the information yet.
Japanese officials say that such short-range missiles aren`t a threat to neighbouring countries because they only have a range of up to 100 km, and are thought to be part of routine military exercises.
