Lucknow, Sep 02: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the state cabinet would be expanded after his government proved its majority on the floor of the state assembly on September 8.
Talking to reporters outside the Vidhan Sabha here, Yadav said after September 8, leaders of the coalition would sit together and decide about the expansion of the ministry.
In reply to a question, Yadav said he had no knowledge about the number of BSP legislators crossing floor in support of his government. "I have no knowledge. The coalition is running smoothly. The partners are together," he said.
On whether the Congress would join his cabinet, the Chief Minister said he had appealed to all the coalition partners to join the government. Yadav said he had no apprehension about proving majority of his government on the floor of the assembly.
"We shall prove our majority without any problem," he said.
About the size and shape of his ministry, Yadav said right now his priority was to take the state on the path of development. Evading a direct reply on the Ayodhya imbroglio, the Chief Minister said whole country "knows about my stand on Ayodhya issue. It appears that only the media does not."
