Jalgaon, Aug 29: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today flagged off the first electric engine goods train between Udhana and Jalgaon at Dharangaon in the district. "The train can run on electricity and it will save time and money," Advani said after giving green signal to Udhna-Jalgaon Tapti valley railway.
The electrification has been made at a cost of Rs 144 crore and covers 306 kms covering forty-three railway stations.

Union Railway Minister Nitish Kumar, Minister of State for Railways Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kashiram Rana, BJP'S national general secretary Pramod Mahajan, state BJP chief Gopinath Munde, Union Minister of Rural Development M K Anna Patil and others were present on the occassion.
Nitish Kumar said that Jalgaon railway station will get the status of model-station.
He also described the Dharangaon as a model station.
Advani, who arrived by air to Dharangaon from Ojhar airstrip, to inaugurate the project, said it will link western and central railway in the Mumbai-New Delhi route.
