Five poll observers appointed for Anantnag district
Srinagar, Sept 07: The Election Commission has appointed five senior officers as poll observers for Anantnag district of Kashmir valley, official sources said today.
Srinagar, Sept 07: The Election Commission has appointed five senior officers as poll observers for Anantnag district of Kashmir valley, official sources said today.
Besides, two other senior officials have been appointed as expenditure observers for the district, they said. Meanwhile, Anantnag district election officer B A Rouniyal today reviewed poll arrangements, including issuance of election photo identity cards (EPCI) to the voters.
He said that epics have so far been provided to 98,000 voters while 2.70 lakh forms have been issued for the purpose. Of this, 1.30 lakh forms with photographs have been received and the process of issuing the epics was in full swing. The EC has decided to set up two more polling stations, one each in Kokernag and Bijbejbehara constituencies, raising their strength to 608 in the district.
