"We strongly believe that a lasting and just solution to the major internal conflict afflicting Nepal can only be found through carefully organised negotiations between the parties," UN resident coordinator in Nepal, Matthew Kahane, said addressing the 58th UN day celebrations here.
He also pointed out the international communities' willingness to help Nepal in overcoming the root cause of the conflict including social inequality, discrimination and poverty.
The indigenous conflict that has been affecting Nepal for the past seven years has claimed several thousands lives and destroyed social and development infrastructure, Kahane said.
