R M Gupta`s judicial custody extended till June 25
Chandigarh, June 12: A local court today extended till June 25 the judicial custody of suspended Jalandhar district and sessions judge R M Gupta in a corruption case.
Chandigarh, June 12: A local court today extended till June 25 the judicial custody of suspended Jalandhar district and sessions judge R M Gupta in a corruption case.
Special CBI judge Balbir Singh extended the custody of Gupta, who was arrested on May 10 last by the CBI on a complaint by medical practioner Gurvinder Singh Samra.
Samra had alleged that Chandigarh-based judicial magistrate S S Bhardwaj had demanded a bribe of Rs 11 lakh on Gupta's behalf.
Bhardwaj had escaped from a trap laid by CBI at his residence here on May 10, but was nabbed at Panchkula on Tuesday. He was sent to CBI custody till Saturday.
