New Delhi, Oct 20: Foreign Minister of Serbia and Montenegro Goran Svilanovic arrived here today on a three-day visit for talks with Indian leaders mainly aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation in economic, science and technology and other diversified areas. He will call on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and have extensive parleys with External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on a host of bilateral, regional and international issues. He will also have meetings with ministers of science and technology and commerce and industry during his stay.

The two sides will sign an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation. A joint business council is being established by the chambers of commerce and industry of the two sides.
Both India and Serbia and Montenegro, formerly the federal republic of Yugoslavia, attach significance to developing their bilateral relations to mutual benefit, especially in trade and economic sectors.


Svilanovic's visit is expected to provide "significant impetus" to bilateral relations between the two countries, the external affairs ministry said in a statement here.
