Ranchi, Apr 12: Jharkhand State Electricity Board has lighted up one thousand villages upto March 31, 2003, JSEB chairman Rajiv Ranjan said today. Another 500 villages would be electrified by this July, Ranjan, who had been making promises of a 'power revolution' in Jharkhand ever since he took over, said.
He said the change of overhead conductors of Ranchi and installation of 390 additional transformers of 200 KVA capacity would also be completed by May 31.
He said average generation level in Patratu thermal power station was expected to rise to 250-300 mw.
On general reforms, he said, concept of re-organising the board on profit centres would be finalised for implementation.
Revenue realisation would be increased from present level of Rs 70/75 crore to about 90 crore and tenders for introducing end-to-end it system in board's working would be invited.
On non-fulfilment of his past promise to make the state capital 'a zero power cut zone' by March 31, 2003, Ranjan shifted the blame on a Mumbai-based private company. The concerned company failed to complete its work, he alleged. Bureau Report
