Kolkata, June 21: Train services in the Kiul-Jhanjha section of the east Central Railway remained disrupted for over five hours today after a nearly 1,000-strong crowd blocked traffic at the Mananpur station under Danapur division, according to eastern railway sources here. They said that the crowd, which obstructed train movement from 6.00 am to 11.55 am was demanding railway jobs.

As a result, the 2306-dn Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express (via Patna), 3074-dn Himgiri Express, 2024-dn Patna-Howrah Shatabdi Express, 3008-dn Toofan Express and 3050-dn Amritsar Express were delayed for four hours on an average.
The sources claimed that 660 lunch packets were provided to the passengers of the Rajdhani Express which made an unscheduled stop at Asansol under Eastern Railway.

Notwithstanding the late running of the down trains, ER authorities were making efforts to operate the corresponding up trains as per schedule.
