Chennai, Jan 20: The newly-formed Congress-DMK Front in Tamil Nadu has been officially named 'Democratic Progressive Alliance' (DPA) and it will help establish a secular government at the Centre, DMK Chief M Karunanidhi said today. Speaking to newsmen after a meeting of the district secretaries of the party here, Karunanidhi also announced the formation of a nine-member manifesto drafting committee, headed by former Union Minister T R Baalu. To a question on BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan's remarks in Mumbai yesterday that the exit of DMK from the NDA was only 'temporary', Karunanidhi said there was no question of DMK returning to NDA after the polls.
