Indore, Sept 21: Union Minister for Commerce and Law Arun Jaitley today said BJP is of the opinion that there is no need for Union HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi to resign following the Rae Bareli court decision to chargesheet him in the Ayodhya case since there is no `moral turpitude' involved in the case. "The BJP is of the opinion that there is no need for Joshi to resign on the issue as there is no moral turpitude involved in the case," Jaitley told reporters here.
However, he said the final decision in this regard would be taken by the Prime Minister as it is his prerogative.
On the issue of filing appeal against the decision, he said the appeal can be filed either by those against whom the charges are framed or by the CBI and other concerned agencies. Madhya Pradesh assembly polls would be fought under the leadership of Uma Bharati despite the Rae Bareli court judgement against her and she would be the party's chief ministerial candidate, the minister said.
On making Ram temple movement an issue in the coming assembly polls in the five states, Jaitley said, "For the party, development would be the main plank but if Congress rakes up this issue or any issue against Bharati related to the Ram temple, then we would give a befitting reply." Bureau Report
