Bhopal, June 14: Madhya Pradesh Congress president Radha Kishan Malaviya today alleged that on-going power crisis in the state had increased due to "conspiracy hatched" by energy and coal ministries of BJP-led NDA government. The Union Energy Ministry was deliberately delaying the construction of Bansagar hydel power project in Rewa district, due to which 425 mw hydel power was not being generated, he said in a statement here.
Madhya Pradesh was also not getting 650 mw power from other states due to collapse of towers of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), Malviya said and expressed surprise that PGCIL was neither repairing the towers nor accepting help offered by the state electricity board (MPSEB).
He alleged that the union coal ministry was also conspiring to obstruct thermal power generation in the state and pointed out that the Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), was supplying sub-standard coal to state's Sarni plant.
