British warship to arrive at Kochi
Kochi, June 05: A British warship, HMS Richmond, would arrive at the Kochi port today and its crew would interact with the Indian Navy during its week-long stay here.

A type-23 Duke Class frigate of the Royal Navy, it would be commanded by Commodore K W L Keble.
Its crew, comprising 166 sailors and 20 officers, would visit various training schools in the naval base and participate in sporting fixtures and interact with the Indian Navy during their stay here. The frigate is equipped with surface-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air missiles, guns and torpedoes. It can attain speeds upto 28 knots and carries a Westland Lynx helicopter on board, a navy release said here today.
The 133-metre long ship, with a tonnage of 4612 tonnes, is based at Portsmouth. The British warship would depart for Muscat on June 12, the release added. Bureau Report
