Lucknow, Sept 10: The special Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the controversial Taj heritage corridor case, is to submit its report to the Supreme Court tomorrow. According to a highly placed source in the agency, the special team is already in Delhi to submit the report as per the apex court's directions.

It is also likely to seek some more time to probe into the financial assets of those involved in the case, he said.

The Supreme Court had directed CBI to probe into the Rs 175 crore case on July 12 and had asked it to submit its report by September 11. It had also asked the investigating agency to question the high and mighty in connection with the probe.

The CBI has so far questioned 20 people including former UP Chief Minister Mayawati, former chief secretary of the state D S Bagga, former Transport Minister Nasimmudin Siddiqui, former principal secretary to Chief Minister Panna Lal Punia, finance secretary Naveen Chandra Vajpayee, principal secretary irrigation Satish Agarwal and suspended IAS officer R K Sharma.

Mayawati had earlier denied knowledge of the case and had claimed that she was kept in dark by the officials. Later, CBI sources claimed that she spilled the beans during questioning. Bureau Report
