New Delhi, Nov 25: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief
Minister Farooq Abdullah today alleged that the Mufti Sayeed
government in Jammu and Kashmir was tapping his telephone as
it feared that national conference was planning to topple his
government.
"My all telephone lines are being tapped by the state
government as they fear that we will attempt to topple them,"
Abdullah told a news agency here.
Asked whether he had lodged a formal complaint with state
and central authorities, Abdullah said he had made the
allegation openly.
"It is his (Sayeed's) deeds that will lead to toppling of
his government. I or my party will have no role to play in
it," he said.
National Conference President Omar Abdullah said, "We are
looking for a regime change. If my party wanted this
government to fall, we could have done within no time."
Farooq Abdullah alleged the political situation in the state was "worse" than during the emergency of 1975 and "the state government is trying to fabricate cases against my partymen. We are looking at the situation and we know that none of them is going to stand scrutiny of the court of law."
Asked for his comments on the statements of coalition ministers that if corruption of Abdullah government was probed throughly several skeletons would tumble out, he said "let them open the Pandora's box. Why wait? I know that they will not as this would call their bluff."
