Madurai, Aug 15: A constable and two others were arrested while three others were absconding in an alleged attempt to murder case near here, police said.

Depressed over dismissal of one Manoharan from service for producing false certificates, the accused tried to attack executive officer Haripriya of Azhagar Kovil in her quarters yesterday. The neighbours rushed to her rescue on hearing her cries, police said.
A case under Sec 307 of IPC had been registered.
