New Delhi, June 27: Honda Siel Power Products (HSPP) plans to launch new power generator set (genset) to take on the domestic inverter market. To dispel the notion that portable gensets are expensive, the company has come out with a genset priced at Rs 14,350, a news paper report said.
Earlier this year, HSPP launched the Honda GenX. More recently, it launched the Handy Genset, a lightweight offering specially designed for long hours of service and low maintenance demands.
The company plans to advertise the product in states worst affected by power failures—Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Though the inverter industry is monopolised by the unorganised sector, some of the branded inverter companies include SAR Silicon (Luminous), Usha Zentra and Microtek, the report said. Bureau Report
