New Delhi, July 26: Central Administrative Tribunal
(CAT) has ordered the Delhi government to regularise the
services of ten daily-wage employees working on the post of
nursing orderly in a hospital here.
Acting on a petition filed by Kanchedmal and nine other
daily-wage employees of the Dr Baba Sahib Ambedkar Hospital in
Rohini, CAT's principal bench through its member Govindan S
Tampi directed Delhi Government Secretary (health), health
services director and the Medical Superintendent of the
hospital to regularise their services.
"... The respondents (the hospital) may favourably
consider the case of these ten applicants only for being
regularised against available vacancies, for filling up the
posts for which an advertisement has already been issued in
accordance with rules," CAT member Tampi said in the order.
However the tribunal said that in the event of such regularisation, they should be treated as fresh appointees like others who have responded to the advertisement.
The employees were working in the hospital since July- August 1999 on the post of nursing orderly, their counsel Jagdev Singh claimed. Bureau Report
