Imphal, Jun 02: Unidentified militants attacked a CRPF post at Tuinem area in Churachandpur district of Manipur last night, but there were no casualties, official sources said here today. Well-armed militants after surrounding the post, about 50 kms south of here, opened fire at the security personnel.
The exchange of fire between the security personnel and the militants lasted for more than 30 minutes, they said. While on the CRPF's side there were no casualties, it was not known if any of the militants was killed or injured, the sources added. Later a caller claiming to be the spokesman of the separatist People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Prepak) told local media that members of the Red Army, armed wing of Prepak, had carried out the attack on the CRPF post with highly sophisticated weapons without suffering any casualties.
