Ram temple will be constructed at Ayodhya at any cost: Togadia
Deogarh (Jharkhand), June 13: Asserting that Ram temple would be built on the disputed Ayodhya site at any cost, VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia today said `Mahabharata` will be repeated if an attempt was made to thwart construction of the temple.
Deogarh (Jharkhand), June 13: Asserting that Ram temple would be built on the disputed Ayodhya site at any cost, VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia today said 'Mahabharata' will be repeated if an attempt was made to
thwart construction of the temple.
"The Kauravas turning down the Pandavas' request for granting five villages led to the Mahabharata. If forces try to resist construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, a repeat of Mahabharata can not be ruled out," Togadia told a public meeting here.
He ridiculed those advocating reconstruction of a mosque at the disputed site at Ayodhya in the name of maintaining communal harmony and asked them to take initiative for construction of a Shiva temple at Jama Masjid in Delhi for establishing a unique example of religious brotherhood.
Togadia said for building up communal harmony in the country, the religious sites at Ayodhya and Mathura should be handed over to the Hindus and cow slaughter banned.
Stating that 90 per cent of the country's population worship cow as mother, Togadia demanded immediate enactment of legislation to ban cow slaughter across the country.
Earlier, Togadia offered puja at the famous Shiva temple here. He was later presented half-a-kg silver trident by the priests at a function.
