Gwalior, Oct 26: Sachin Tendulkar hit the 35th one-day century of his career as India set a victory target of 285 for the Aussies in the second match of the ongoing tri-series here today. Stylish middle-order batsman V V S Laxman also helped himself to a ton as India scored 284 for five in their allotted 50 overs after skipper Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat.
India had a disastrous start as opener Virender Sehwag fell in the first over edging Nathan Bracken's third delivery to Matthew Hayden in the slips. But Tendulkar looked in ominous form as he hit inexperienced Aussie bowlers all over the ground. He hit exactly 100 before becoming Bracken's second victim, nicking a delivery to Adam Gilchrist. Brief scores: India 284 for 5 in 50 overs (V V S Laxman 102, Sachin Tendulkar 100, Yuvraj Singh 44) Bureau Report
