Ahmedabad, Nov 17: The special Pota court today reserved for November 21 further hearing on the first ever bail plea of a person allegedly involved in the assassination of former Gujarat home and revenue minister Haren Pandya on March 26 last year.
Hearing on the bail application, filed by advocate M A Hakim on behalf of the accused person Mohammed Yusuf Maniyari, was completed and Pota judge Sonia Gokani decided on November 21 as date for further hearing on the matter.
In his application, Hakim contended that the applicant had been falsely arrested by CBI, the investigating agency, and there was no prima facie case against him as claimed by the agency.
The CBI had claimed in the chargesheet that Maniyari allegedly gave shelter to Hyderabad-based sharpshooter Mohammed Asgar Ali after the assassination of Pandya.
The agency also claimed that four empty cartridges were recovered from him after he was arrested.
