Lt Gen Davinder Kumar takes over as Signals chief
Chennai, Feb 02: Lt Gen Davinder Kumar has taken over charge as Signal Officer-in-Chief and senior Colonel Commandant of Signal Corps at the Army Headquarters here.
Chennai, Feb 02: Lt Gen Davinder Kumar has taken over charge as Signal Officer-in-Chief and senior Colonel Commandant of Signal Corps at the Army Headquarters here.
Gen Kumar, hitherto Additional Director General, Information Systems, assumed office yesterday, a defence release said today.
Gen Kumar, who won the Vishisht Seva Medal twice has raised and commanded a signal regiment in a prestigious Infantry Division in the northern sector. A member of hardware working group in the national task force on information technology, he had served in Iraq as part of the Indian training team and also worked with Indian Space Research Organisation and Oil India Limited. Commissioned in 1965, Gen Kumar a specialist in network design and implementation, and has done pioneering work in the design and implementation of automated battle field management system for the army, the release added.
