Jammu, Apr 27: National Conference president Omar Abdullah today said that Centre's interlocutor N N Vohra's mission was "bound to be doomed" as he was holding dialogue only with mainstream political parties and not with other sections in Jammu and Kashmir. "The NC had said earlier that the Centre should not repeat its mistakes in Jammu and Kashmir. The ongoing talks should have been different from the previous ones but again Vohra is talking to the same set of people like the NC, Congress. He should have talked to others also," Omar said.

"Talks with those sections other than mainstream political parties are necessary for making the mission successful," he told reporters after conclusion of a conference of gujjars and bakerwals here late this afternoon.
"Hence, the exercise undertaken by Vohra in Kashmir is heading towards failure like earlier missions of the Centre. It is bound to be doomed," he said.

Omar said, "Chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had announced that Vohra would hold unconditional talks with everyone. The Centre might have cleared him over the issue. But where are these unconditional talks being held?"
NC would continue to press for dialogue with all sections of people and would engage Vohra over the issue of greater autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
"Till the Centre does not hold talks with Pakistan and cross-border terrorism does not end, a delegation of parliamentarians can go to Pakistan and talk for restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Sheikh Abdullah was sent by then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru for talks with Ayub Khan in 1964. This is also a path for restoration of peace."
