Mumbai, July 06: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIS) recorded heavy net purchases in equities at Rs 662.7 crore (US dollar 141.4 million) while remaining net sellers in debt at Rs 7.3 crore (USD 1.5 million) for trading week ended July five, 2003. Mutual funds (MFs) were net buyers in equities at Rs 1.18 crore during the period under review. Their net investments in debt market stood at Rs 564.43 crore, according to data available with Securities and Exchange Board of India here.
FIIs, on July three made purchases of Rs 536.9 crore and sales of Rs 244.3 crore in equity market, thus netting inflows of Rs 292.6 crore (USD 62.7 mn), the highest for the week.
They also were net buyers at Rs 149.1 crore (USD 31.7 mn) on June one and Rs 67.9 crore (USD 14.5 mn) on July 02.
On debt front, the foreign funds recorded net inflows at Rs 47.6 crore (USD 10.2 mn) on July 03. Bureau Report
