Jerusalem, Nov 27: Chile is also keen on buying India's indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) 'Dhruv,' which as per sources here, is attracting attention of several countries for its low direct operating cost. The deal, Israeli defence sources said, is being finalised through Israeli mediation, which is also helping Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in selling the ALH to US customs. Chile is a well known purchaser of Israeli products and has bought wide ranging products, including ten rocket launchers, ten anti-ship missiles, ten radars and 84 Python missiles.
HAL and Israel aircraft industries have a strategic alliance to cooperate with each other in development and manufacturing of various products. HAL's chairman and managing director, N R Mohanty, during his last visit to Israel had told local media here that Israel has good marketing skills and HAL would like to utilise them in search of markets abroad.
