Rains lash northern India
Chandigarh, Aug 16: Ending a short dry spell, several places in the region, especially Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, were lashed by rains since yesterday.

In Haryana, Rohtak (24.9 mm), Rewari (11.2 mm), Jind (3
mm), Ambala (1.3 mm), Karnal (1 mm), Narnaul (0.8 mm), and
Panchkula (2 mm) received good rainfall during the period,
Met Department said here.
Chandigarh received 1.4 mm rainfall till this morning and the maximum temperature settled at 33.4 c.
Ludhiana, Patiala, Ropar, Mohali and Jalandhar in Punjab also experienced some showers. In Himachal, Shimla (8.5 mm), Sundernagar (2.3 mm), Nahan (8.5 mm), Solan (10 mm), Baijnath and Kangra (14 mm each), Kasauli (8 mm) and Rajgarh (10.5 mm) were lashed by rains.
Sujanpur Thira Nadaun, Guler, Kahu, Berthin, Sunni, Pandhoh and Kasol also received showers.
The Met centre has forecast moderate rain at a few places in Himachal and Haryana and at isolated places in Punjab in the next two days. Bureau Report
