Kolkata, Oct 24: Indian tennis ace Leander Paes yesterday said upcoming talent Rohan Bopanna needed to work on his temperament and increase his aggressiveness to make an impression in the international arena.
Commending the gangling Karnataka player for his performance in the opening rubber of the Davis Cup world group play-off against Martin Verkerk, Paes said Bopanna always tried to play well but faltered at the crucial points.
''I think he had a big chance to upset Verkerk by winning the fourth set tie-break, but failed,'' Paes told newspersons. ''He tries to play very well, and then struggles to win a set or a match. He needs to be more aggressive and positive, and work on his temperament,'' Paes said.

The tennis veteran added that with players like Prakash Amritraj and Bopanna around, the selection of the Indian team for the Davis Cup tie, tentatively scheduled for the coming Feburary, would be 'interesting'.
