London, Oct 27: Princess Diana shared one last bombshell secret with her butler Paul Burrell days before her death, which would perhaps never be revealed to the world. "In an astonishing letter she noted their `excitement` at the devastating revelation,`" The Daily Mirror claimed.
And she underlined its nature by remarking: "what a secret!"
The letter to her loyal butler was written in August 1997 - the month of her death in a Paris car crash.
It is the final twist in Burrell`s book `A Royal Duty`, exclusively serialised in The Mirror last week.
Burrell reproduces the full letter, in which she cryptically refers to "happier times and different homes!"
In the letter, she says "dear Paul, clearly from your third eye, this coming weekend is an important one! I know that too, and I wanted to write on paper how enormously touched I am that you share this excitement with me as well.
What a secret! you are marvelous how you cope with my questions day after day and it`s quite annoying that you`re constantly right!
But, on a serious note, your support, as always, has been invaluable and kept me sane during some of the nightmare times... Now, the tide is changing and we can all now have peace of mind and look forward to happier times and different homes! thank you Paul, for being such a tower of strength. Love from Diana."
