Islamabad, Nov 15: Continuing to insist that Saarc should deal with political issues, Pakistan today said the regional forum would not serve a "useful purpose" if doesn't hold talks on disputes among member nations. "If Saarc does not hold talks on politics then it will not be serving a useful purpose," Information Minister Sheikh Rashid told a local private television here.

While insisting that talks on political matters should be allowed in the forthcoming Saarc summit to be hosted by Pakistan, Rashid said that Saarc should be expanded by including China and Iran.
He also said that after his recent visit to New Delhi he believed that there was earnest desire on the part of the people of both countries to solve mutual problems and live in peaceful and harmonious environment.
