Centre releases Rs 31 crore for J&K road development
Srinagar, July 28: Centre has released Rs.31 crore to Jammu and Kashmir under the Central Road Fund (CRF), a hundred per cent centrally sponsored scheme for construction of various roads, an official spokesman said here today.

He said the state government has undertaken a total of 25 major road projects under the scheme, which are likely to be completed during the current financial year.
Of these, 15 projects are under execution in Jammu division and 10 projects in Kashmir division. While Rs 18 crore has so far been released for executing the projects in Jammu division, Rs 13 crore were allocated for Kashmir,the spokesman said.
He said a proposal to construct 41 additional major roads are awaiting sanction of the Union ministry of road transport highway for financial assistance under the scheme. Of these, 2 projects are proposed to be constructed in Jammu while 21 projects would be executed in Kashmir division. Bureau Report
