New Delhi, Nov 18: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said that a controversial affidavit in Ayodhya case was filed by an erring law official on his own
but asked the left parties and others to realise that his Samajwadi Party was alone in the vanguard of fight against communalism in the state.
He also said that a supplementary affidavit would be filed in a day or two and he saw "no possibility" of Congress withdrawing its support to his coalition government on the
issue.
"Is it the CPI-M, the CPI or the Congress which have been fighting the communal forces in Uttar Pradesh or the Samajwadi Party.....Our CPI-M friends have no patience...Comrade Surjeet had talked to me only two days back.....They suddenly launched an assault yesterday", he said addressing a press conference on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh day at the IITF here. He also wanted his secular allies to understand that he and his party alone bore the brunt of "atrocities" of the erstwhile BSP-BJP coalition in the state and then there were even moves to detain him and his party colleague Amar Singh under Pota.
Declaring that there was no change in his party's stand on the Ayodhya issue, he said that the controversial affidavit was filed in the Supreme Court in the case by a concerned official on his own "without informing me or even the advocate general".
He said a supplementary affidavit would be filed in the apex court as soon as possible, may be today or tomorrow. Bureau Report
