Dehradun, Aug 31: Renowned environmentalist and Chipko Andolan leader Sunder Lal Bahuguna would undergo angioplasty at Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences this week.
Bahuguna was admitted to AIIMS a few days back and angioplasty would be conducted on Tuesday, Uttaranchal Industrial Development Minister Kishor Upadhayay, who yesterday enquired about his health in New Delhi, told here.
"Doctors after conducting all medical investigations have now advised that angioplasty should be performed on Bahuguna," Upadhayay said.
Bahuguna, who initiated the Chipko movement to save the forest cover in Uttaranchal, has also been in the forefront to oppose the controversial 2400 MW, Tehri Hydel project on environmental grounds. Bureau Report
