Bangalore, Oct 15: The United States will generate
more jobs because of improvement in productivity due to
outsourcing than it has lost, an American 'outsourcing
evangelist' said today.
"There is a lot of information that is coming out that
productivity improvement to the US companies are going to
generate more job opportunities in the us for what it has lost
due to offshore outsourcing," Michael F Corbett Associates Ltd
President and CEO Michael F Corbett told reporters here on
the sidelines of the "2003 India Outsourcing Summit".
Asserting that India had a competitive edge over other nations as an outsourcing destination, Corbett said, the advantages of India was its people, employees and management expertise.
Sounding a word of caution on the recent backlash over outsourcing to countries like India, he said, "organisations should be more sensitive to these issues", adding that the election year could see more "heightened" cries against offshoring.
More and more American firms were looking at India for outsourcing, Corbett said, adding the backlash against job losses would eventually die down if the us economy picks up and generate jobs.
