New Delhi, Oct 21: Bahujan Samaj Party today kept its options open on forging an electoral tie-up with other parties in states going to assembly polls on December 01.
"Till now the party decision is that it would contest all the seats in the four states on its own. But there is still more time to file nominations which would be in next month. We
don't know what shape the political situation would take by that time", BSP president Mayawati told reporters here.
The former Chief Minister was responding to questions whether her party would be forging an electoral tie-up in the forthcoming assembly elections or go it alone in the changed circumstances. A few days ago, Mayawati had hinted at an electoral understanding with like minded political parties including Congress to take on BJP, a party with whose support she became Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice.
Angry with the BJP following developments in Taj corridor project case which led to her ouster from the chief ministership, the former chief minister has been giving "mixed signals" with regard to alliances, both in the coming assembly as also national polls next year. Bureau Report
