Bhubaneswar, Feb 06: The Council of Ministers in Orissa today unanimously resolved to dissolve the 12th state legislative assembly paving way for holding simultaneous polls to the Lok Sabha and the assembly in the state. Briefing mediapersons after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said there was only one agenda in the meeting for the dissolution of the House and the Council of Ministers resolved to dissolve the House.
Meanwhile, Patnaik met the state Governor M M Rajendran and handed him a letter recommending dissolution of the House.
The last session of the state assembly was convened here on February 3 to pass the vote on account to defray the expenditure of first four months from April 2004.
The assembly was adjourned sine die for indefinite period yesterday by speaker Sharat Kumar Kar after the House passed the Appropriation Bill. Bureau Report
