Bangalore, June 18: A team of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited officials will visit Chattisgarh on June 25 for initial exploratory talks to set up a 500 MW power generating unit in the state.

"A team will visit Chattisgarh on June 25 for initial talks," KPCL director (technical) Mohammed Zafarulah told reporters here today.
He said the talks were exploratory in nature and would dwell on utilising coal from mines and pits in the state. Zafarullah said a power plant above 500 mw would be economical to set up and the generated power was expected to be transmitted by a high voltage direct current line.
