Vijayawada, Aug 04: BJP today said it was not 'vacillating' on the issue of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and accused Congress of changing its stand. "We stand by our decision. We are committed to the construction but only after the consensus from all groups", party president M Venkaiah Naidu told reporters before leaving for Chennai after taking a holy dip at Rajahmundry.

Naidu said it was Congress which was changing its stand.

"It was only Congress which had allowed Karseva during Rajiv Gandhi's rule but now they want to wait for court decision", he said. Referring to the Supreme Court directive on Common Civil Code, Naidu said unless all political parties coordinate, it would be difficult to achieve success.

To a query, he said the inter-state dispute on water could only be solved after interlinking the rivers.

Asked whether he would be contesting for the party president's post for the second term, Naidu said "nothing is in my hands. All will be decided by the high command."

"The main issue before me for 2004 was to see that the BJP gets 300 seats in the next general elections", he added.
