Los Angeles, Jan 06: Pop star Britney Spears made arrangements to annul her Las Vegas marriage to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander hours after the two were wed in a chapel there on Saturday. George Maloof Jr., owner of the Palms Casino and Hotel where Spears was staying, confirmed she and Alexander, were wed on Saturday.

A friend of Spears said that by Saturday noon, the couple signed annulment papers, to be filed in court on Monday.

‘‘Yes, they got married and are in the process of getting it annulled,’’ Alexander’s grandmother, Betty Alexander, said.

There were apparently no hard feelings. Shortly after signing the papers, the two had dinner together. The only people who witnessed the wedding were the chapel’s minister, a photographer and the bellman. The wedding ceremony was videotaped, but no video has so far been released.

After spending Friday night at a movie in the Palms’ theatre and in their hotel suite, Spears and Alexander went to two chapels that were closed, then found Little White Wedding Chapel. They were told they needed a marriage license, so at about 4 am they drove to the court house, a friend of Spears said.

A marriage license was filed in Clark County, Nevada, at 4 am on January 3 signed by both.
