Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's visit to the United States marks the changing relationship between US and India, with Washington seeking closer ties with the world's largest democracy. By contrast, Vajpayee's meetings in Washington are seen as a chance for the Prime Minister to speak on the attractions of India as a destination for American capital and for both sides to explore new avenues for economic and technical cooperation. While Washington will convey its continuing concern over India's explosive relationship with Pakistan, the paper quoted a state department official as saying Vajpayee will talk about commercial issues, exchange of technology, medical information, things like that and not non-proliferation.
