Bangladesh Rifles has vacated the Pyrdiwah BSF observatory post at the international boundary in Meghalaya, a preliminary report received at the BSF headquarters in Shillong said on Thursday.
BSF sources said that they were waiting for a detailed report. Meanwhile, After four days of fierce fighting, Bangladesh on Thursday agreed to restore status quo ante in east Khasi Hills border of Meghalaya with personnel of the Bangladesh Rifles pulling out from the Pyrdiwah village, which they had forcibly occupied on Monday.
It was agreed at a high-level meeting that the status quo ante on the border would be restored and action is underway on the ground to meet this objective, an official spokesman of the ministry of external affairs said IN New Delhi.
