Vatican, June 15: Pope John Paul II today renewed an appeal for peace in the Middle East, denouncing an "endless spiral of violence and reprisals." "I want to repeat an appeal I've made before: There is no peace without justice, no justice without forgiveness. I repeat it again today, with added conviction, addressing myself to all the inhabitants of the Holy Land," the Pope said in his Sunday Angelus at Saint Peter's Square here. "Once more we have suffered days of blood and death for the inhabitants of the Holy Land, drawn into an endless spiral of violence and reprisals," he said. "I also exhort the international community not to tire of helping the Israelis and Palestinians to regain a sense of humanity and fraternity in order to weave their future together," John Paul said.
