Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Thursday declared the battle against terrorism has entered its last phase and would be fought in a decisive manner.
“All the terrorists, who struck at Parliament House this morning,” have been killed, Vajpayee said in an address to the nation.

“Now the fight against terrorism has reached its last phase. We will fight a decisive battle to the end,” Vajpayee said observing that a Parliament of 100 crore people has accepted the challenge posed by terrorists.
Condoling the deaths of security personnel in the gun battle in Parliament house, the Prime Minister said that they had succeeded in defeating the terrorist designs.
Stating that “We have been fighting terrorism for two decades,” Vajpayee said the attack was not only on Parliament but the entire nation.

“There should be no doubt in anybody's mind about government's resolve to fight terrorism. We all do it together,” he said.

“The terrorist attack has either been thwarted or they (terrorists) could not achieve their goal,” Vajpayee said, adding by attacking Parliament, they had exposed their designs.
