New Delhi, Aug 25: Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar`s pictorial biography `Bapi - the love of my life` authored by his famous daughter Anoushka Shankar was released here yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the sitar maestro said the book shows "all aspects of my life, my childhood, my passion for music."
Appreciating her daughter, he said, how mature and sincere she is, going as she does "for enough to show the darkest part of my being, yet not overlooking my pain and pleasure," the sitar expert said.
"I have become her father and guru and it is difficult to being the both," he said. "But not as a guru and mentor, but as a father I bless her."
He said, "Beyond the beautiful person she is, and beautiful things she can give to people is the faith that my music is safe with her."
Anoushka, the star attraction of the function, said "I have got every thing in my life from Bapi the musician, rock star, achiever, joker..., my mentor and my friend.

"I am proud and happy that for the first time I have done some thing all my own though, ironically, it is about him. And so finally I have some thing to give him."
The biography, published by the family series of Roli Books, also contains some intimate and seldom seen photographs from family albums and snatches from personal letters. Bureau Report
