Mumbai, June 16: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that further course of action regarding ace off spinner Harbhjan Singh's finger surgery, which has been advised by doctors, will be formulated after the President Jagmohan Dalmiya and secretary S K Nair return from London.
Harbhajan Singh was advised surgery on his middle finger by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Sudhir Warrier who checked his finger in Mumbai on saturday.
BCCI executive secretary Sharad Diwadkar said that Harbhajan's letter is already lying on the table of the president and secretary of the board and they would take a decision once they return. The BCCI appointed doctor Anant Joshi said that the diagnosis has been sent to Dr Steven Friedman and Dr Dror Paley, the same duo who operated on Sachin Tendulkar in Baltimore and further course of action will be decided only after a reply is received from them, Dr Joshi added. Harbhajan, who underwent a test at the Lilawati hospital here on saturday, was suffering from laxity of a ligament of the knuckle joint of the middle finger. However, no fracture was seen.

The report revealed a tear of the ligament with fraying at the edges near its attachment, thereby requiring surgery. The injury is similar to the one suffered by Sachin Tendulkar recently.
