Five railway personnel suspended
Hyderabad, Jan 03: The railways today suspended five of its personnel, including two officers, in connection with the collision between the Secundrabad-Manmad Express and a stationary goods train which killed 18 people at Ghatnandur, 300 kms from here, a senior rail official said.

He said the suspended officials were Prashant Kumar Verma (asst station manager, Ghatnandur), Vinayak Neelakantha, Shesharao Sayedu (Pointsmen, Ghatnandur), Srinivas Suryavanshi traffic inspector) and G Krishnaih (Division Safety Officer).
The two officers were suspended to facilitate departmental inquiry into the incident which would be
conducted on January 5 and 6, the official said.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Railway has reached the accident site and would commence inquiry from Sunday. Bureau Report
