New Delhi, Jan 06: A conference of chief ministers is likely to be held here next month to discuss problems relating to internal security management as also police reforms, deputy prime minister L K Advani has said.
As a follow-up to this conference, chief secretaries and directors general of police of all states and union territories would be held tomorrow, Advani told reporters while on his way to Mumbai from Hyderabad last night. The Chief Ministers' conference would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said.
The conference would chalk out strategies to meet the emerging challenges to internal security, reforms in the police and prisons besides new kind of crimes like cyber-crimes. The conference tomorrow would be inaugurated by Advani and attended by ministers of state for home I D Swami and Vidyasagar Rao, besides top officials of the Union Home Ministry. Chiefs of all central police organistions would also participate.
