Pakistan has said it would not endorse any US-led military campaign against other Muslim countries beyond Afghanistan and asserted that the present operations should be confined to implementation of UN resolutions on the Taliban regime.
Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar said Pakistan would follow the UN Security Council resolutions of September 12, which did not permit the US to carry out operations in any other Muslim country. "Our policy is cast in the mould of the UN resolutions", he was quoted by media here on Friday. Sattar said, "some countries might have apprehended that the US operation would extend to them. There is no evidence of that so far. There is no evidence, whatsoever, the operation would be expanded to other countries."
Referring to the outcome of the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference at Doha, Sattar said the meet recognised that the Muslim world needed to be focussed and come out as speedily as possible with a clear position on the issues emerging out of the crisis over Afghanistan. Bureau Report
